Dimple Dell Park is a real park in Sandy City. I did make up some of the finer details, such as the actual street names. To be sure, the use of "Cottonwood" as a proper noun in Utah is as ubiquitous as "Peachtree" is in Georgia, so there must be dozens of "Cottonwood Estates" scattered around the state.
