Hello!Thanks for all your work translating this beautifull serie. I've just finished tha Shadow of the moon, that is part of the Youko arc, and I'm wondering if it's better continuing the Youko arc skipping the second (in chronological order) title or to continue following the publishing order.I haven't watched the anime yet.My problem is that I'm not used to long complex fantasy series, so I worry to lost track of characters, events and the various type of fantastic beings if I skip from an arc to another. What would you suggest? Anyway thank you

A Thousand Leagues of Wind is a direct continuation of Shadow of the Moon (and is covered in the anime), so should probably be read next. The Shore in Twilight belongs more to the (still unresolved) Taiki arc (so may prove frustratingly incomplete). The Wings of Dreams and Poseidon of the East both take place before Shadow of the Moon but are standalone novels. The Wings of Dreams introduces us to Shushou, whom we meet in A Thousand Leagues of Wind.

Thank you for the explanation. Now it's way more clear. I forgot to tell you that I've already read Masho no ko (It's the first novel of the serie I've ever read and I've read it as a standalone novel, so I more or less already know parts of Taiki story.) I've managed to watch three episodes of the anine and there are quite some differences, like Sugimoto and Asano being in the world of the twelve kingdoms, but I think that just anime stuff (and the whole Asano kun character as well). I think I'll follow the order you suggested. I wondering if reading Wings of Dreams before or just left it for later bacause I' curious to know how Youko'll behave as an Empress ^^).
