Merry Christmas!
Okay, enough of this "White Christmas" business.
I want some of that East Coast weather.

It was 65 degrees in Portland, Maine yesterday! What is this--Labor Day?
I confess--from a purely nostalgic standpoint, I missed that white stuff. On the other hand, I don't miss shoveling it, paying the higher heating bill, scrapping ice off the car . . .

I've decided my ideal winter (ie cold enough for snow) would be 8 weeks long and run from Christmas to Presidents day and have 2 - 3 snow storms. Snow can be both exciting and soothing but it is also a hassle. Last year's east coast winter evolved into a hassle of immense proportions as it seemed we were having measurable snow or ice every week well into March.
That said I have no complaints about the current east coast weather pattern of spring-like warmth. The convenience of not having to wear a heavy coat, hat or gloves. Lower utility bills. Many things to like about it.
