Chapter 9 (The Shore in Twilight)

The terms used to describe the military organization of the Imperial Army are a little different than those I used in A Thousand Leagues of Wind. I think these are more accurate. The Imperial Army consists of six divisions: three (right, left, center) belonging to the Palace Guard, and three (right, left, center) belonging to the Provincial Guard under the command of the Taiho.

大司馬 [だいしば] Daishiba, head of the Ministry of Summer
芭墨 [はぼく] Haboku (banana + India ink)
承州 [じょうしゅう] Jou Province (acquiesce)
巌趙 [がんちょう] Ganchou (craggy + nimble)
英章 [えいしょう] Eishou (heroic + composition)
霜元 [そうげん] Sougen (frost + origins)
轍囲 [てつい] Tetsui (furrow + enclosure)
正頼 [せいらい] Seirai (correct trust)

I apologize if I seem to be assiduous, but I thought you might like be aware of typos:

Page 91: "...they couldn't mount an invasion in drip and drabs..."

Isn't it "dribs and drabs"?

Page 91 corrected: In order to bring the heat to the bandits of Bun Province, they couldn't mount an invasion in dribs and drabs, dragging it out for months.

It is as the title page states. The novels are still in print (in Japanese). I'm not aware of any licensed English versions. In any case, I find it hard to imagine a work of fan fiction leaving so many plot lines unresolved.

Shouldn't it be "startled"?

Me again, it seems my English is getting better...

Page 95: ""Which is which we should take Tetsui as soon as possible. [...]""
Suggestion: ""Which is why [...]""

Btw, thank you very much for your translations. The quality is awesome and the notes seem to explain everything nessesary.

And even more nitpicking, this time collected...

Page 96: "They had defined Imperial decrees and did not skirt the brand of insurrectionists."

defied

Page 97: "However, it says nothing about harming even person in Tetsui."

even one person

"The wool was white"

white. (a dot is missing)

And this sentence doesn't make much sense: " But once their discerned the willingness of Gyousou's soldiers to stay their hands, they gave more thought to his intentions."

Special attention to "their", "stay" and "his"

Page 99: "And that couldn't have resulted from the violent lashing mere rebels."

of?

1. Which is why we should take Tetsui as soon as possible.

2. They had defied Imperial decrees and did not skirt the brand of insurrectionists.

3. The wool was white.

4. However, it says nothing about harming even one person in Tetsui.

5. But once they discerned the willingness of Gyousou's soldiers to stay their hands, they gave more thought to Gyousou's intentions

6. And that couldn't have resulted from the violent clashing of mere rebels.

To "stay your hand" means to stop whatever you were about to do. See definition 5 for "start."

I've updated the RTF, HTML, ePUB, and online files.
