Thanks once again!
One of the things I love about the Twelve Kingdom universe is how characters grow and are redeemed. That doesn't seem to be the case so much in this particular novel. It seems here, the virtuous become more virtuous, and the villains become more villainous. It has a darker feel than the other works. I still love it though. Reminds me of Charles Williams' Descent into Hell, where the seemingly trivial decisions different characters make lead them down diverging paths with eternal consequences.
