As Buen points out (and I explain here), Japan is paradoxically "one of the least vegetarian-friendly places on Earth," shoujin ryouri being a noteworthy exception.
The Daiboku (大僕) is the general of the Praetorian Guard and the personal bodyguard to the emperor and kirin (as province lord).

Hi, Eugene, OMG you have no idea how happy it makes me to see that you continue translating that book, I found you're page a few days ago and I was worried that your page could be inactive like the page that used to translate "the twelve kingdoms" books to Spanish. I found your page because of them, by the way, I guess they used your translation to English to translate it to Spanish (Spanish is my mother tongue). Unfortunely, their page is now inactive and they didn't finish the translations and I neeeeeeded to continue reading until the end, you have no idea how much these books mean to me, I watched the anime when I was a little girl and totally adored the story...I wanted to tell you that, since they are no longer translating to Spanish, I've been translating your translation to Spanish, and planned to post it on wattpad because I don't know where else to post it, of course I would put your links and tell people where I took the translation from, I hope you don't mind but if there's any problem with it, just let me know and I won't post it. Also, if you would like me to post it on your page, I wouldn't have any problem, all I want is these wonderful books to be translated and posted in Spanish for people who can't read in English, there are many fans of these books in latin america :) I send you a kiss and a hug, thank you so much for your work, I know how tiresome it is, we really apreciate it
